Held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., ticket proceeds will benefit DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that helps teachers get funding for classroom materials.

For opening night: When Charlie Price is faced with bringing his family shoe business back from the dredges, he finds help in drag performer Lola. With music by Cyndi Lauper, the touring production of "Kinky Boots" opens at the Forrest Theatre (1114 Walnut St.) at 7:30 p.m.
