#PhillyFive Things to Do: Dec. 10, 2014

You’re going to have a good time today. Probably.

You're going to have a good time today. Probably.

For a pint-sized bash: Ain't no party like a Brandywine River Museum (Routes 1 and 100, Chadds Ford, Pa.) party. Kids can tell the big man in red — cough, Santa — what they desire this season, get their faces painted, explore the museum's holiday displays and more from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight.

For jolly shopping: While strolling along Germantown Ave. in Chestnut Hill (between 7900 and 8700 blocks, to be exact) tonight, expect Christmas carolers, warm beverages and sales in the shops during tonight's Stag and Doe night, running from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

For experimental theater: Dubbed as an "anti-play," "The Sincerity Project" is an ongoing performance in which seven performers divulge their past, present and future in the form of storytelling, physical theatre, performance art, music and dance. The catch is, the exact seven actors will go through the same ritual every two years for the next 24. The show runs through Dec. 14 at FringeArts (140 N. Columbus Blvd.). Tonight's performance begins at 7 p.m.

For movie night: As a part of the Trestle Inn's (339 N. 11th St.) Jingle Bell Pop Week, a screening of "Monterey Pop," the rock documentary surrounding the festival of the same name starting at 8 p.m. Sip on special cocktails throughout the night, too.

For hump day dancing: Back again to the Dolphin Tavern (1539 S. Broad St.), Animal Collective — headed by Deakin and Geologist — bring their monthly DJ residency, beginning at 9 p.m. Making Time's Broadzilla DJs get things going.
