#PhillyFive Things to Do: Dec. 18, 2014

Today is a day to remember…or forget.

Today is a day to remember…or forget.

For tradition: Mexican Christmas celebrations, Posadas, are held during nine days before Christmas. Get down to a Posada piano performance from Mexican pianist Pablo Horcasitas at the Kimmel Center (Broad and Spruce Streets) at 5 p.m. this evening.

For guy's night: Stock up on athleticwear for her — or for yourself, no judgment — at Haddonfield Running Company (121 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, N.J.) for a dudes shopping night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. featuring Christmas microbrews, beef jerky and Krimpets, discounts and shopping help.

For Thirsty Thursday: …with a holiday spin. The Reindeer Romp takes pub-crawlers through Fairmount, hitting bars like Alla Spina (1410 Mt. Vernon St.), London Grill (2301 Fairmount Ave.) and Fare (2028 Fairmount Ave.). Just bring a toy or jacket donation and $10 and you'll be set with antlers and drink specials at each of the 12 locations. The crawl begins at 6 p.m.

For a good cause: McGillin's (1310 Drury St.) is offering $3 draft deals for all patrons who bring in a new, packaged toy to benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Penn Brewery will be on tap with the St. Nikolaus Bock and Nut Roll Ale. Sip for charity from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

For a sing-along: The Bryn Mawr Film Institute (824 W. Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr, Pa.) is alive with the sound of audience voices. That's right: You get a chance to show off your vocal chops during a sing-along of "The Sound of Music," starting at 7 p.m. Dressing up is strongly encouraged.
