#PhillyFive Things to Do: Dec. 24, 2014

Before Santa comes, have a festive time!

Before Santa comes, have a festive time!

For brunch: Before the chaos of Christmas Eve dinner, relax over brunch at the Yardley Inn (82 E. Afton Ave., Yardley, Pa.). From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., chow down on special menu items like cheesesteak Benedict, gingerbread pancakes and more.

For a classic: No better time than now to see the grand, colorful performance of "The Nutcracker" at the Academy of Music (Broad and Locust Streets). Curtains are at noon.

For an illuminated ride: All of the lights, all of the lights. Shady Brook Farm (931 Stony Hill Rd., Morrisville, Pa.) will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for open-air wagon or personal car rides through their brightly lit forest.

For a laugh: Stand-up comics Stewie Stone, Jon Fisch, Dave Konig and Robin Fox bring out nothing but the best for the Moo Shu Jew Show, a family-style Chinese dinner set to a comedy show. Designed for Jewish audiences on Christmas Eve, the dinner and a show takes place at Ocean Harbor (1023 Race St.) at 6 p.m.

For singles: Ditch the traditional. Eligible Jewish singles ages 21-49 could potentially meet the love of their life (or the night) tonight at MatzoBall, beginning at 9 p.m. at Rumor Nightclub (1500 Sansom St.).
