#PhillyFive Things to Do: Dec. 29, 2014

Winter break rocks.

Winter break rocks.

For a day at the museum: Keep the kids entertained while keeping them engaged with a visit to the Please Touch Museum (4231 Avenue of the Republic). Among the museum's many exhibits, including a replica of a 1876 train station, young ones will be able to touch, grab and play with everything they see. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

For a sweet day: In addition to learning the cultural and historical history of chocolate through the Academy of Natural Sciences' (1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway) "Chocolate" exhibit, visitors will also be able to purchase specialty hot chocolate beverages at the museum's Hot Chocolate bar from noon to 2 p.m. Savor Mexican hot cocoa or soy and agave hot chocolate among many other delectable options.

For dinner: Can't decide on where to eat in Cape May? How about a course at five different restaurants? Paired with a special wine with each course, dinners will receive shuttle service from each location for Chefs' Dine Around tonight. You'll depart from the Emlen Physick Estate (1048 Washington St., Cape May, N.J.) at 6 p.m.

For a variety show: Singer, choreographer and YouTube star Todrick Hall brings his posse of performers for a show of singing, bringing his viral videos to life and twerking to the World Café Live (3025 Walnut St.) stage at 7:30 p.m.

For a double take: Almost as good as seeing the Grateful Dead live, the Dark Star Orchestra have been taking the Dead's jams and performing them live for over 15 years. They hit the Electric Factory (421 7th St.) tonight with doors at 7:30 p.m.
