#PhillyFive Things to Do: March 22, 2015

Today’s highlights.

Today's highlights.

For families: As a part of the kickoff of the Macy's Flower Show at Macy's Center City (1300 Market St.), families are invited for a cookie-making demonstration, live music and a visit from wellness author and filmmaker Joe Cross (you might've seen him in the documentary Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead). Activities begin at 1 p.m.

For a colonial treat: Watch beer and bread get made in 18th century fashion at Pennsbury Manor (400 Pennsbury Memorial Rd., Morrisville) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

For culture: Celebrate Greek Independence Day with a 2 p.m. parade down the Ben Franklin Parkway from 16th Street to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

For a classic with a twist: Not just an ordinary egg hunt, this one, beginning at 2 p.m. at Norristown Farm Park (2500 Upper Farm Rd., Norristown), requires kids ages 6 to 8 to use clues to find hidden eggs and eventually a stash of treasure. For younger tots, whose hunt begins at 3 p.m., the tried-and-true ordinary rules apply.

For Sunday dinner: Meatball to your heart's content at Sandi Pointe Coastal Bistro (908 Shore Rd., Somers Point) for Jazz with a Chance of Meatballs, a benefit for the South Jersey Jazz Society. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. you'll taste meatballs form eight area chefs and sit down to an Italian meal set to the sounds of jazz.
