#PhillyFive Things to Do: March 9, 2015

Can we take a nap yet?

Can we take a nap yet?

For a touch of spring: Ignore the cold at Longwood Gardens (1001 Longwood Rd., Kennett Square) at Orchid Extravaganza with thousands of orchids arranged in the heated 4-acre conservatory. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

For an evening stretch: Unwind after work with a 6 p.m. all-levels yoga session at Jenkins Arboretum (631 Berwyn Baptist Rd., Devon).

For a cozy bash: The best kinds of parties involve pajamas. The Roslyn Branch of the Abington Township Public Library (2412 Avondale Ave., Abington) is throwing a PJ party for kids ages three to six where they can hear stories, listen to songs and craft away from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

For jams: Philly-based percussionist Karen L. Smith comes to the Free Library of Philadelphia's Central Branch (1901 Vine St.) to bring the jams at 7 p.m.

For those strapped for cash: Share your stories of your stingiest days — or the craziest thing you ever did for money — at tonight's First Person Arts StorySlam centered around the theme "broke." Held at World Café Live (3025 Walnut St.), doors open at 7:30 p.m. for signups, while the show starts at 8:30 p.m. if you're more down to chill and listen.
