Sustainable Saturday is a new local food market day devoted to sustainability in Philadelphia brought to you by the University City District! Every third Saturday of the month starting June 18 will feature a series of events that are all around the theme of sustainability. On the kick off Saturday the theme is "Grow It Yourself". Through out the morning and into the afternoon, head over to West Philly for a series of DIY workshops, guides to urban farming, and food tasting events!

On June 18th there will be a Clark Park Farmer's Market, West Philly Gardens Day, Ice Cream Tour & Taste at Bartram's Garden, and a West Philly Farm to Table Trolley Tour! To check out a full list of the day's events and tours check out the Facebook event here. I would act fast since some events do require a ticket purchase and it will probably sell out quickly. Additionally, the West Philly Capogiro will have a limited amount of Sustainable Saturday flavors which are bound to sell out at the blink of an eye!

Future third Saturdays and themes are listed as the following:

Saturday, July 16: From Farm to Table
Saturday, August 20: From Seed to Compost
Saturday, September 17: Preserving the Harvest

Sustainable Saturday

10 am - 7 pm.
