Whether you have visitors coming into town over the next few weekends or just enjoy taking in the sights of the city, the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides is offering an intensive tour and lecture series both this weekend, Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, and next weekend, Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22.

Designed for both would-be Philadelphia tour guides and those interested in getting the local lowdown, the lectures, paired with walking and bus tours built into the day's schedule, take place at the Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market Streets).

Each day begins at 9 a.m. and features discussion topics like Franklin's Philadelphia, Philadelphia in the Civil War, and Center City, the Parkway and the Park.

During the first weekend, walking tours will commence at 1:15 p.m. and take visitors through Historic Philadelphia (Saturday, March 14) and Independence Mall and Society Hill (Sunday, March 15). Weekend two's tour — via bus — is held only on Sunday, March 22 and extends through the entire city.

Register now and be that much more in-the-know about the City of Brotherly Love.
