Weekend Picks: See one of the greatest movies of the '70s on the big screen

Need something to do this weekend? We got you covered.

Studio B presents Cultivate

Studio B (39A East Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown)
Reception, 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, show hours 1 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays through Sundays to Feb. 14. Admission is free

It's bleak and gray. Let's think green. For the eighth year, Studio B presents Cultivate, an annual juried group show featuring works inspired by agriculture. This year's show opens with a reception Friday and continues through Feb. 14.

Nice and Fresh: Pop Up Performances

Moving Arts of Mount Airy (Greene Street and Carpenter Lane)
6 and 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, $7.

SmokeyScout Productions presents the latest episode of its series Nice and Fresh: Pop Up Performances, featuring John Rosenberg's Hella Fresh Theater play Autopia, a one-woman comedy about a centerfold's reminiscences; Josh McIlvain's SmokeyScout business comedy Pepperidge Farm; and dance by Sam Tower/Plant Me Here and the Naked Stark.

Eighth Blackbird

Kimmel Center's Perelman Theater (Broad and Spruce Streets)
8 p.m., Friday, $24.

The intriguing ensemble Eighth Blackbird says it aims to "combine the finesse of a string quartet, the energy of a rock band, and the audacity of a storefront theater company." The sextet plays a recital of works by the Brooklyn-based composer collective Sleeping Giant -- Andrew Norman, Ted Hearne, Chris Cerrone, Timo Andres, Jacob Cooper, and Rob Honstein.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Various venues
2 & 7 p.m., Sunday and Wednesday.

Though its one of the greatest of movie westerns, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, is also a valedictory for the genre. George Roy Hill's 1969 film is a deft mix of of drama and comedy, owing a lot to its stars, Paul Newman and Robert Redford (not to mention Katherine Ross). The tale of outlaw pals trying to make their way in 1890s Wyoming (and Bolivia) hasn't been seen in theaters in over 40 years, but the TCM Big Screen Classics series, which brings classic movies back in the original aspect ratio with digital projection, has made it the first selection released for a two_day national release.
