Following his no-contest plea in a court case claiming he supplied a woman with ecstasy, CeeLo Green dragged himself into more controversy with a series of bizarre tweets about rape.
The woman said she was eating with Green and doesn't remember the period between that meal and waking up naked in the singer's bed. Green has a rebuttal to this claim. One tweet in a series that has since been deleted said, "People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!"
Green's deleted tweets were captured in a screenshot. When faced with the deleted tweets, the singer wrote, "I have 2mil followers trust me they saw it."
The tweets came in a conversation Green was engaged in with various Twitter users. After deleting the tweets, Green offered this apology via Twitter, which he also subsequently deleted:
"Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context."
"I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I'd never condone the harm of any women. Thank you"
The former judge on NBC's "The Voice" was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days of community service.
