Gossip site reports Will and Jada Pinkett Smith split

RadarOnline.com reports that “an insider” revealed the Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have “decided to pull the plug in a carefully choreographed manner [and] agree announcing their split at the end of the summer is the right move.”

UPDATE: Will Smith took to his Facebook page late Monday afternoon to respond to the rumors of his split from Jada Pinkett Smith.

"Under normal circumstances, I don't usually respond to foolishness. (Because it's contagious) But, so many people have extended me their "deepest condolences" that I figured - "What the hell... I can be foolish, too!"

So, in the interest of redundant, repetitious, over & over-again-ness... Jada and I are...

NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! : -)

I promise you all - if I ever decide to divorce my Queen - I SWEAR I'll tell you myself!

That's right: Mr. and Mrs. Smith are basically already over and done with and will announce it to the general public at a time TBD.

"For Will and Jada, holding it together these past few years has been tough because their marriage has been on life support for a long time," the insider explained.

RadarOnline then went on to publish two of the Smiths quotes without context.

They refer to a February interview with The Sun in which Will said his marriage had died very many times during its nearly two-decade course. RadarOnline does not, however, include the following statement in which Will explains, "You are gonna have to rebirth something new. You have to be willing to ride the waves." Ironically, the quote is actually pulled from statements Will made about preserving his marriage.

Jada spoke about her marriage during a Howard Stern interview later in the year. RadarOnline pulled a few quotes from that converstion in which Jada said she was not her husband's "watcher" and said he is free to do whatever he wants "as long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay." Directly following this interview, many publications took Jada's words to imply the couple had an open marriage.

In the aforementioned Howard Stern interview, however, Jada expressed that Will was "a man of integrity" and that her statements just mean she trusts that he will do what's right. In 2013 she also denied claims that the couple had an open marriage.

Beyond RadarOnline's context-less quotes, another popular gossip blog, Gossip Cop, has come out and refuted RadarOnline's Will and Jada divorce rumors. Citing another unnamed source, Gossip Cop reported they were told "it's simply 'not true.' "

"Gossip Cop looks forward to seeing what [RadarOnline] posts at the end of the summer when there is no announcement of a divorce," the website wrote. Two years ago Gossip Cop proved RadarOnline's Will and Jada Pinkett Smith "trial separation" rumors were false.
