Kevin Bacon wants to make another ‘Tremors’ movie with the original cast

Kevin Bacon is currently doing the media rounds to promote his latest film, Cop Car, but there's one past movie that the Philly native would like to revisit: 1990's Tremors.

Bacon stopped by the Fantasia Film Festival last week, where attendees lobbed Tremors-related questions at the Cop Car star. But rather than rebuff their advances, Bacon confirmed that he's interested in working on a Tremors reunion sequel with the original cast, and even teased the possibility that it's in the works.

"I can't address it directly," Bacon reportedly told the Fantasia crowd. "But I would say that this is the only character that I've played that I would like to see what happens to that guy 25 years later."

"That guy," of course, is Bacon's Tremors character, Valentine "Val" McKee — hired hand, workmate to protagonist Earl Bassett, and Graboid hunter extraordinaire. And despite numerous Tremors sequels, we haven't seen Bacon's McKee since the 1990 original.

A shame, especially considering that Tremors 5 is being released on DVD this October sans Val. But, then, we might not have to wait all that long to see Bacon's character again.

As it turns out, this isn't the first time Bacon has expressed interest in making a new Tremors. In fact, back in May, Bacon said something similar follow the cancellation of The Following.

"I'd love to do something else with Tremors and revisit the character 25 years later," Bacon told Britain's Metro newspaper.

So, Tremors fans, keep an eye out — and not just for dirt dragons. Word is Val McKee may be on his way back to Perfection.
