Lena Dunham to host SNL for the first time
Make sure your skinny jeans and ironic literary tattoos are ready for March 8th because Lena Dunham will be hosting Saturday Night Live and she'll be joined by musical guest The National. Who knew that Saturday nights could be so melancholy and self-reflective?

Dunham (obviously) is the creator, writer, star, producer, showrunner, and general czar of the HBO series GIRLS. In addition to hosting Saturday Night Live, she keeps busy writing spastically interesting book proposals that get leaked to Gawker, posing for images that will inevitable be photoshopped (even though the original images will end up on Gawker), and trying to become emotionally equipped to deal with the fact that her boyfriend used to date Scarlett Johansson. Like, in real life.
The episode will finally give SNL an opportunity to poke fun at Dunham and GIRLS with her in the room, which will probably work splendidly alongside Dunham's inferiority complex and self-deprecating sense of humor. Especially when you consider that she'll be following the illogically popular star of The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons. Barf.
Dunham, creator and star of HBO series Girls, will be joined by The National – making their first appearance as musical guest. Their most recent album, "Trouble Will Find Me," received a 2014 Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album and their documentary "Mistaken For Strangers" hits theaters last week of March. SNL returns with originals on March 1 with host Jim Parsons and musical guest Beck. [Deadline]
