Rapper Nicki Minaj is under fire for her alleged use of Nazi imagery in an official lyric video for her new single "Only," featuring Lil Wayne and Drake, who is half Jewish.
The video is a black and white animated comic with red accents, featuring a cartoon Minaj as a reigning dictator, Chris Brown as a military leader, Drake as a religious leader and Lil Wayne as a business mogul.
The "Only" video, which was created as if it takes place in the past, shares some similarities between Nazi propaganda. Minaj addresses a group of soldiers who are dressed and posed like Nazi SS officers, soldiers wear Nazi-like arm bands and an insignia that favors the typography and placement of a swastika waves on a red flag. The symbol in Minaj's video is a "YM" for Young Money, the record label to which she is signed.
People have expressed their disapproval of the video on social media.
Minaj is no stranger to controversial imagery. She was forced to apologize back in February after Malcolm X's daughter called the rapper's use of her father's image for a single album cover "completely disrespectful."
