Back in 2009, Philadelphia Realtor Reid Rosenthal appeared on ABC's The Bachelorette, subsequently becoming one of the series' most popular contestants to date — an event that made him decide that he "almost had to stop going out."

Upper Dublin native Rosenthal, who appeared on The Bachelorette's fifth season in 2009 and on Bachelor Pad's inaugural season in 2012, recently caught up with Vulture about his time on the reality TV circuit, saying that his experience nearly completely turned him off to traditional dating.

"The summer after I came off the show, I almost had to stop going out," he said. "My friends always wanted me to go out because I was their wingman. At some point, maybe two months later, I was like, 'Guys, I'm done going out, I can't handle it, it's too much.' "

To counteract those ill effects, Rosenthal, 36, decided to get back to "my values" and remember "what type of person would I have gone for before" the show aired.

"At some point, you've got to decide to get back to your real life, and that gets a little difficult at times," Rosenthal said. "You have to go back to, 'What are my values, and what type of person would I have gone for before?' "

As Vulture reports, Rosenthal has been in a relationship for the last two years.
