'The Daily Show' returns, slams Chris Christie over Cowboys debacle

"The Daily Show" made its triumphant return to TV yesterday, which can only mean one thing: Chris Christie is in big trouble.

The Daily Show made its triumphant return to TV yesterday, which can only mean one thing: Chris Christie is in big trouble.

Although it's only 2015, Jon Stewart has already turned his attention to 2016 to cover the upcoming presidential elections. As such, last night he provided us with a review of all the candidates who have declared (or are expected to declare) their candidacy.

Summarizing most of the list as "also-rans," Stewart paid particular attention to Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Mike Huckabee also caught a few barbs, with Stewart opining that "it's becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between someone running for president or joining a cult."

But no one, of course, got it worse than Chris Christie. Referring to the New Jersey governor as "backstabbing," Stewart took Christie to task over his Sunday visit to Dallas, where he took in a Cowboys game with owner Jerry Jones. It is, of course, unacceptable because, as Stewart says, the Cowboys are "the most hated team in the Tri-State Area."

"You lead a state, Christie, that's half Giants fans and half Eagles fans, and you're groping the owner of the Dallas f------ Cowboys?" Stewart said. "Why don't you just break a copy of Born to Run over the head of a Hurricane Sandy victim?"

With that, Stewart provides us with his pick for the Daily Show's official presidential endorsement: Sen. Melvin Dickpictweet. If nothing else, at least it will make a good bumper sticker.
