David Foster Wallace was a critically-renowned American novelist who tragically hanged himself in 2008. Three years before committing suicide, Wallace delivered a commencement address at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. Though the speech didn't garner much attention until after Wallace's death, his "This Is Water" address has always offered a poignant, enlightening message about adulthood and self-awareness.

Recently, the folks at The Glossary turned Wallace's commencement address into a "stimulating videogram" in hopes of helping his message reach a larger audience. It's definitely the most valuable thing you can watch today. You can read the entire speech here.
