Tornado watch; several inches of rain coming
The watch is posted until 7 p.m. from Philly on north.
No sightings have been reported, but that window-fogging air-mass is laden with storm-feeding moisture, and right now a nasty weather scenario appears to be unfolding for late this afternoon and tonight.
The moisture is associated with the amorphous vestiges of Nicole, but name or no name, this has the potential to be the worst area-wide rainstorm since Floyd, in 1999.
For now the weather service has posted a grand slam of advisories. Along with the tornado watch, flood watches and wind and coastal-flooding advisories are in effect.
