Clayton J. Fitzhugh has been appointed vice president, chief human-resources officer of Catholic Health East, a Newtown Square-based hospital system. He had been senior vice president of human resources and operational performance at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

DecisionOne Corp., Devon, has named Kathryn Alexander senior vice president of sales and marketing. She had been IBM relationship manager at Northrop Grumman Corp.

Diana Sherman has been named director of audit services at Conner & Associates P.C., Newtown. She had been the director of internal audit for ARI Insurance Cos. of Lawrenceville, N.J.

John Christen has been named managing director of Independence Capital Partners of Philadelphia. He was previously a senior vice president with RAIT Financial Trust.

Merck & Co. Inc., Whitehouse Station, N.J., has named Peter N. Kellogg executive vice president and chief financial officer to succeed Judy C. Lewent, who is retiring. Kellogg, who will join Merck on Aug. 14, currently holds the same titles at Biogen Idec Inc., Cambridge, Mass.
