Recent announcements about changes to the boards of directors of area organizations or involving local executives. Checkpoint Systems Inc., a Thorofare maker of antitheft security tags for retailers, appointed Robert P. van der Merwe to its board. Since April 2005, he served as president and chief executive officer of Paxar Corp. and was chairman of the Paxar board from January until the company's sale in June.
