, is leaving the company as a result of the restructuring, a Comcast spokeswoman said.

The head of the Midwest Division, Bill Connors, will take the top job in Comcast's Eastern Division. The Eastern Division, with headquarters in Oaks, Montgomery County, comprises Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Ohio.

Comcast said its restructuring would lead to better geographic alignment for the business, which has 24 million pay-TV subscribers.

Doyle, 53, a longtime Comcast executive, founded the company's local news operation, CN8. The CN8 operation, which was part of Doyle's Eastern Division, will now report to Jeff Shell, president of the Comcast Programming Group.

Doyle discussed senior jobs at Comcast, but decided to pursue other opportunities, the spokeswoman said.

Lynn Doyle will remain with the show she hosts, the company said.
