The Boss and his Jersey Devil

Bruce Springsteen

celebrated Halloween this year with a new song about a Jersey homeboy, "A Night With the Jersey Devil." Available for free on the Boss' Web site (

), the tune has Bruce singing: "Hear me now! / I was born 13th child, 'neath the 13th moon / Spit out all hungry and born anew."

"If you grew up in central or South Jersey," Springsteen says, "you grew up with the 'Jersey Devil.' Here's a little musical Halloween treat. Have fun!"

The new song and video are perhaps a consolation prize for fans disappointed that the Boss' Rumson mansion did not offer the Halloween display that each year draws more fans. The Boss says he is worried for the public's safety, given the crowds.

Madonna

recently had a long, telephonic heart-to-heart with her estranged hubby,

Guy Ritchie

But yesterday, London's Daily Mail reported that Madge has been sending Guy text messages that seem anything but amicable.

"You're going down," one is alleged to have read.

An anon source tells the Mail that Guy told "one pal" that, "this is [Madonna's] idea of a joke - but it's not funny. Imagine what it was like living with her."
