Ken Suman was named senior vice president, account management at DSC Advertising, Philadelphia. Suman had worked in sales in the Asia-Pacific, Australian and South American markets for AR, a Souderton household audio and video equipment company.

LRA Worldwide Inc., a Horsham research and consulting company in customer experience management, said Martin Thorson joined the firm as managing director - sports, entertainment and conventions. Thorson had been a senior vice president at SMG, the arena management company.

The Center for Autism, a Philadelphia nonprofit autism treatment and evaluation center, said Paula Cullinan had been promoted to chief operating officer. Culinan had held positions at the center, including chief financial officer and controller.

NOVA Financial Holdings Inc., the Berwyn parent company of Nova Bank, said Patricia Loughney had joined as vice president and director of internal audit and heads the audit function. She had been strategic planning group project manager for T. Rowe Price Associates Inc. in Baltimore, Md.

Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Broomall, said Marc Ernest had been named vice president for the Chester County area. Ernest had been of assistant vice president at a local bank.

William H. Needle was named chair of the Intellectual Property Department at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll L.L.P. Needle, a partner at the Philadelphia law firm, is a member of the firm's Trademark and Copyright Group, Patent Group, and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.
