Wilmington Trust Corp., Wilmington, has elected former FBI director Louis J. Freeh to the board of the financial-services holding company. After eight years with the FBI, Freeh began his private-sector career as vice chairman, general counsel, and ethics officer for MBNA America Bank in Wilmington, where he was MBNA's principal lawyer in its 2006 acquisition by Bank of America Corp.

, Wilmington, has elected former FBI director

Louis J. Freeh

to the board of the financial-services holding company. After eight years with the FBI, Freeh began his private-sector career as vice chairman, general counsel, and ethics officer for MBNA America Bank in Wilmington, where he was MBNA's principal lawyer in its 2006 acquisition by Bank of America Corp.

He is founder and senior managing partner of Freeh Group International, a global risk-management consulting firm based in Wilmington, and its affiliated law firm, Freeh, Sporkin & Sullivan L.L.P., based in Washington.

Thomas L. du Pont, 60, a board member since 2006, resigned from the board, citing business and family considerations, the company said.

Nathan J. Gordon has been elected president-elect of the American Polygraph Association, an international professional organization. The South Philadelphia native will begin his term in 2010. Gordon is president of Keystone Intelligence Network, a private investigative firm in Philadelphia, and director of the Academy for Scientific Investigative Training.

Mitchell L. Morgan has been named to the board of trustees of the National Museum of American Jewish History, a nonprofit cultural organization based in Philadelphia. He is president and chief executive officer of Morgan Properties, King of Prussia.

Philadelphia Theatre Company has elected Priscilla M. Luce president of its board. She is president of The Albert M. Greenfield Foundation, Levittown. Michael M. Coleman, former board president, joins E. Gerald Riesenbach as the new co-chairmen. Coleman is principal at Coleman/Nourian Search L.L.C., Philadelphia. Riesenbach is a lawyer at Cozen O'Connor, Philadelphia.

Also named to the board to three-year terms:

Brigitte Daniel is executive vice president of Wilco Electronics Systems Inc., responsible for corporate communications, government affairs, regulatory affairs, public affairs, and corporate administration.

Alice L. George is an author and independent historian with a doctorate in history from Temple University and is a former deputy managing editor of the Philadelphia Daily News.

Glenn A. Gunderson is chairman of the trademark practice at Dechert L.L.P., Philadelphia.

Sally Lyn Katz has taught math and computer science for several years, most recently at Friends' Central School, and serves on five boards at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kevin Casey has been elected to the board of the Federal Circuit Historical Society, a nonprofit Washington organization that promotes public awareness of the history and heritage of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is a partner and chairman of two groups at Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young L.L.P., Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia School, a Center City independent school for children in preschool through eighth grade, has named Harry M. Roth president. He is a lawyer and managing partner at Cohen, Placitella & Roth P.C., Philadelphia.

Susan Harkness Regli is lead engineer at Lockheed Martin Advanced Technology Laboratories, Cherry Hill.

Alyssa Rickels is a social worker at the Hall Mercer Child and Parent Center, Philadelphia.

Mary E. Stitt is deputy procurement commissioner for the City of Philadelphia.

Shiloh D. Theberge, an associate in the litigation department at Saul Ewing L.L.P., Philadelphia, has been elected to the board of the Briar Bush Nature Center, a nonprofit environmental education organization in Abington Township.

Main Line Art Center, a nonprofit community arts center in Haverford, has elected Steven Holstad Jr. as chairman. Holstad is chief financial officer and part-owner of City Line Motors L.L.C., which owns BMW of the Main Line and Mini of the Main Line. He is also a managing director with Strattech Partners L.L.C., Bala Cynwyd.

Louis P. Marchesani Jr., founder of March Technology, Drexel Hill, has been named vice president.

Linda Dubin Garfield, a printmaker and mixed-media artist and founder of ARTsisters, has been named a board member.

Carol Benenson Perloff, a mosaic artist and founder of Carol A. Benenson & Associates, Wynnewood, has been named a board member.

The Birth Center, a Bryn Mawr-based nonprofit organization that empowers women through exceptional ob/gyn care by midwives and nurses, has appointed the following officers and members to its board:

Shannon Farmer, a partner at Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll L.L.P., Philadelphia, is president.

Teresa Piperno is vice president. She is currently the managing partner for Advantage Property Ventures L.L.C. and previously worked for Johnson & Johnson as a clinical research study manager.

Jennie Schottmiller is treasurer. She was formerly the vice president of finance for a travel company and manager in a public accounting firm.

Peter Crowe, account executive at the Horst Group Inc., is secretary.

TL Hill is assistant professor of general and strategic management at the Fox School of Business, Temple University, Philadelphia.

Ferne Kuhn is principal of the Kuhn Consulting Group, Devon.

Kristin Schriks is consultant. She was the director of guest services at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and consults there as well as works on special projects for the center.

Katherine Sherif is director of the Center for Women's Health and associate professor at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Stephanie Kosta has been appointed to the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (Pennvest) by Gov. Rendell. Pennvest is responsible for funding sewer, storm water, and drinking-water projects throughout the state and plays a role in the state's environmental improvement and economic development efforts. She is an associate in Duane Morris L.L.P.'s trial practice group in Philadelphia.

Ed McBride has been named to the board of Nazareth Hospital, Philadelphia. He is an external affairs manager for Peco Energy Co., Philadelphia.

Independence Public Media of Philadelphia Inc., a nonprofit public media organization that operates MiND: Media Independence, has named Frank Lordi to its board. Lordi is the national managing principal and CEO for AC Lordi Consulting Inc., West Chester. Lordi codeveloped the firm's methodology for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and has overseen compliance initiatives for global companies such as Crown Holdings Inc., GlaxoSmithKline P.L.C., and McNeil Consumer & Speialty Pharmaceuticals.
