to its board. Lovelidge is the managing partner for PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P., responsible for the strategy and operations in the Philadelphia and Harrisburg offices.

Lightwave Logic Inc., a publicly held Newark, Del., company developing applications in high-speed fiber-optic telecommunications and optical computing, has appointed Phillips W. Smith chairman of the board. He most recently was chairman of Taser International Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz., and is involved as an investor in start-up companies.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art has elected Mickey Cartin, Lyn Ross, and Charles Kaufman Williams 2d to its board of trustees. Cartin serves on the museum's Modern and Contemporary Art Committee and the European Painting and Sculpture Committee and is a member of the board of trustees of Printed Matter in New York.

Ross serves on the boards of WHYY, the Mann Music Center, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Hospitality Philadelphia Style.

Williams is a classical archaeologist whose career has focused on excavation sites in Greece and serves on the board of directors of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. He is a member of the museum's Prints, Drawings, and Photographs Committee and has made substantial donations of works from his own collection.

Lucy Malmberg has been elected to the board of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, a professional organization. She is executive vice president and corporate secretary/treasurer of Wedgewood Pharmacy, Swedesboro.

Ricardo R. Johnson is a law clerk for Constellation Energy Group Inc. in the general counsel's office.

Bernadette Mangan is chief executive officer of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Philadelphia.

Elmer F. Hansen 3d is chief operating officer and vice president of Hansen Properties Inc., Blue Bell.

James Morris is senior vice president for SEI Investments Co., Oaks.

John Fries is a retired partner with Healthcare Resources International.

Brother James Gaffney is president of Lewis University, Romeoville, Ill.

Philadelphia lawyer Rhonda Hill Wilson has been appointed to the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority board. Hill Wilson is a personal-injury and nursing home negligence lawyer in the Law Offices of Rhonda Hill Wilson P.C., Philadelphia.

Encorium Group Inc., a publicly held Berwyn multinational clinical research organization, has appointed Shahab Fatheazam, a current director, as chairman of the board. Fatheazam most recently was managing director and head of the U.S. health care practice of GCA Savvian, a Tokyo investment banking advisory firm.

PHH Corp., a Mount Laurel commercial-vehicle leasing company and home-mortgage provider, said Carroll R. Wetzel was appointed to the board, succeeding Jonathan D. Mariner, who is stepping down because of other professional commitments. Wetzel will also serve on the company's audit committee and finance and risk-management committee.

Resource Capital Corp., a publicly held real estate investment trust, has elected Steven J. Kessler to serve as chairman of the board. He replaces Edward E. Cohen, who has been chairman since the company's inception and will continue to serve as a director. Kessler is chief financial officer of Resource America Inc., Philadelphia. - Mike Zebe
