Airgas providing cryogenic services to Penn Health System

Airgas Inc. said Wednesday that it signed a five-year agreement to provide off-site cryogenic repository services for the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Airgas Inc. said Wednesday that it signed a five-year agreement to provide off-site cryogenic repository services for the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

The service is for long-term storage of research samples for the Philadelphia-based health system, the Radnor company said.

Airgas cryogenic storage systems use nitrogen-cooled freezers with a temperature of minus 300 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve samples for future research.    - Reid Kanaley
