SAP acquiring German software firm
Software giant SAP AG said today that it was acquiring TechniData AG, which provides software to handle regulatory compliance of environment, health and safety (EHS) issues.
Software giant SAP AG said today that it was acquiring TechniData AG, which provides software to handle regulatory compliance of environment, health and safety (EHS) issues.
SAP, which is based in Walldorf, Germany, has 2,000 employees at its U.S. base in Newtown Square. TechniData, which has 500 employees and is based in Markdorf, Germany, has U.S. operations in Wilmington.
SAP said in a release that the acquisition, whose price was not disclosed, would expand its market as well as its offerings.
TechniData has been a strategic partner of SAP's for 15 years, SAP said in a release.
The acquisition is expected to be completed at the start of the 2010 third quarter. Terms were not disclosed. - Roslyn Rudolph
