BioLeap Inc., a Ewing computer-based drug-design company, has named Gene Cordes to its board. He has been vice president for biochemistry and molecular biology in the Merck Research Laboratories and president of R&D and corporate vice president at Sterling Winthrop Pharmaceutical.

BioStrategy Partners Inc., an Elkins Park organization that helps emerging and early-stage life-science companies in the Philadelphia area commercialize, has elected David R. Sinkway treasurer. He is director of finance and administration at Protez Pharmaceuticals/Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp., Malvern. Jeffrey P. Libson, a lawyer at Pepper Hamilton L.L.P., Berwyn, was named to the board.

QuantRx Biomedical Corp., Doylestown, which specializes in diagnostic products, has appointed Robert G. Pinco and Patrick T. Mooney to its board. Pinco is senior counsel and former head of the Biomedical/Food and Drug Group at Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney P.C., Philadelphia. He had also held positions at the White House, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Food and Drug Administration, and the U.S. Attorney's Office. Mooney is chief executive officer, president and chairman of the board of Echo Therapeutics Inc., Franklin, Mass.

BioNanomatrix L.L.C., a Philadelphia developer of systems for biomedical research, molecular diagnostics, and personalized medicine based on nanotechnology, has elected David L. Barker to its board. Barker was vice president and chief scientific officer at Illumina Inc., San Diego, from 2000 through 2006.
