Southampton-based Environmental Tectonics Corp. announced today that it will be opening a branch sales office in Shanghai, China.

The maker of flight and driving simulators and other devices said that it already had sales of sterilization and automotive testing equipment into China, and that this office will mark its first official Far East expansion.

ETC has hired David Kong, who has more than 25 years' experience in international business, to head the operations there.

"China and the Far East represent potentially huge markets for products of many sorts, and we hope to capitalize on those markets," said William F. Mitchell, ETC president and chairman.    - Inquirer staff
