Tyco Electronics to change name to TE Connectivity

Tyco Electronics Ltd., which has its operating headquarters in Berwyn, said today it is changing its name to TE Connectivity Ltd.

The change is subject to shareholder approval at the company's annual meeting in March.

The new name will "better reflect the products and solutions that we provide to our customers," company chief executive Tom Lynch said.

Tyco Electronics, which has its corporate headquarters in Switzerland, sells electronic connectors and other equipment that protects and connects data and power sources in the automotive, telecommunications, aerospace, consumer products and other industries.    - Paul Schweizer
