Comcast Corp. chief executive Brian Roberts met earlier this month with two members of the Federal Communications Commission and asked for prompt approval of the company's plan to purchase NBC Universal, Bloomberg News quoted from a filing.

Roberts met Jan. 6 at a trade show in Las Vegas with Robert McDowell and also with Meredith Attwell Baker, the Republicans on the Democrat-led commission, according to the filing today on the FCC's website, Bloomberg said.

The U.S. Justice Department also must sign off on the deal involving Comcast, the largest U.S. cable company.    - Inquirer staff
