GSI Commerce Inc. said today that one of its divisions acquired ClearSaleing, an Ohio-based company that provides analytics for companies that use online advertising.

GSI, which is based in King of Prussia, runs websites for retailers, manufacturers, and other companies. The acquisition was made by its Global Marketing Services division, which already had been using ClearSaleing's services.

The new acquisition, which has 30 employees, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of the division, which has seven other companies helping clients acquire and retain customers.

More than 100 advertisers, representing more than $400 million in annual digital media spending, use ClearSaleing's platform, a GSI spokeswoman said, adding that the client list includes American Greetings, Rosetta and Nationwide Insurance.

Terms were not disclosed.

Randy Smith, who had been ClearSaleing's CEO, will now report to Chris Saridakis, CEO, GSI Global Marketing Services, the company spokeswoman said.

Company shares were down 30 cents to $23.53 early this afternoon in Nasdaq trading.    - Roslyn Rudolph
