Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau has elected the following officers to its 2011 board:

Nicholas DeBenedictis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Aqua America Inc., is chairman.

Jim Gratton, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown and president of the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association, is first vice chairman.

Ahmeenah Young, president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority, is second vice chairman.

Edward D. Slevin, a partner at Ballard Spahr L.L.P., is secretary.

Anthony J. Tanzola, an instructor at St. Joseph's University, is treasurer.

National Constitution Center, a Philadelphia nonprofit group, has elected Ellen Alemany to a three-year term on the board of trustees. Alemany is CEO of Citizens Financial Group Inc. and is a member of Royal Bank of Scotland Group P.L.C.'s executive committee.

Journal Register Co., a Yardley-based news and information firm, said it had elected Betsy Morgan to the board. Morgan, former CEO of the Huffington Post, was recently appointed as CEO of the Blaze. Before joining the Huffington Post, she was senior vice president for CBS Interactive and general manager of CBSNews.com.

Prism Pharmaceuticals Inc., a privately held King of Prussia specialty-pharmaceutical firm developing and commercializing acute-care cardiovascular products, has named Carrie S. Cox chairwoman of the board. She is a 30-year veteran of the pharmaceutical industry and is CEO of Humacyte Inc.

Allen B. Mason has been elected to the board of Carroll Engineering Corp., a Warrington firm that provides consulting engineering, planning, surveying, and landscape-architecture services. He is senior vice president and manager of the company's authority/municipal services department.

RSVP of Montgomery County Inc., a Blue Bell nonprofit group that promotes volunteerism among area residents 55 and older, has appointed Ron Gawel president of the board. He had been operations director with Lockheed Martin Corp. and facilities manager at General Electric Co.

Chris Hegarty, a certified public accountant and partner at Citrin Cooperman & Co. L.L.P., Philadelphia, has been appointed membership chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Personnel Consultants, a staffing-industry organization.

Anthony J. Conti, retired managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P.'s Philadelphia office, has been named to the board of managers of The Philadelphia Foundation, which provides cash grants and scholarships to Southeastern Pennsylvania nonprofit groups.

Philadelphia Financial, a Plymouth Meeting provider of insurance strategies to financial advisers of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, has appointed Jeffrey Taylor to its board. Taylor is the founder of Legend Global Group.

Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group, a nonprofit professional association, has elected Dwayne Patterson chairman and CEO of the organization for a one-year term and Syd Weinstein vice chairman. Patterson is vice president of Townsend Machine Inc., Chesterfield. Weinstein is chief technology officer and executive vice president at PeopleMetrics of Philadelphia and an adjunct associate professor at Villanova University.

Jim Vincenzo, a partner at B2BCFO Partners L.L.C. and treasurer of J.P. Opera Foundation Inc., was named treasurer.

Viktor Ohnjec, president of M2VP, was named secretary.

Ralston Center, a Philadelphia nonprofit organization that has assisted the elderly since 1817, has elected Neville E. Strumpf president. She replaces Francis R. Strawbridge, former chairman and co-CEO of Strawbridge & Clothier. Strumpf is director of the John A. Hartford Foundation, Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

Michael Fenerty, a lawyer with the Philadelphia law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson, has been elected to the executive board of the Philadelphia Bar Association Family Law Section. The section helps shape domestic-relations law and procedure in Pennsylvania.

Kenneth L. Ewell has been named to the board of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, a Washington trade association. He is executive vice president of the Graham Co., Philadelphia. - Mike Zebe
