Subaru of America Inc., a wholly owned Cherry Hill subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan, named Takeshi Tachimori chairman, president, and CEO. He had been corporate senior vice president and chief general manager of the Subaru Product and Portfolio Planning Division at Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. and replaces Yoshio Hasunuma.

Rite Aid Corp., the Camp Hill drugstore chain, promoted Tony Montini to executive vice president of merchandising from senior vice president of category management. The company also said that Bryan Shirtliff, senior vice president of business development, was named to the new position of senior vice president of merchandising.

Comcast Corp., the Philadelphia entertainment and communications company, named Maria G. Arias executive director of diversity and inclusion, a new position. She had been vice president of operations for Southern Colorado systems.

Comcast also said Joe Waz, senior vice president, external affairs and public policy counsel, had retired from the company. Waz will establish a part-time consulting practice with Comcast as its first client, and will be the first chairman of the Broadband Internet Technology Advisory Group.

Universal Health Services Inc., the for-profit King of Prussia hospital chain, said Marvin G. Pember had been hired as senior vice president of the company and president of its Acute Care Division. Pember had been executive vice president and chief financial officer at Indiana University Health Inc., a nonprofit hospital system.

Brandywine Realty Trust, a publicly held Radnor real estate company, promoted both Richard M. McGuckin and Kathleen P. Sweeney-Pogwist to vice president of leasing. McGuckin most recently was director of leasing for Brandywine's Radnor, Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting, Blue Bell, and Newtown Square assets. Sweeney-Pogwist had been director of leasing for the company's King of Prussia and Southern Chester County assets.

Pfizer Inc., the pharmaceutical company, said Yvonne Greenstreet had been hired as senior vice president and head of medicines development for the Specialty Care Business Unit in Collegeville. Greenstreet joins Pfizer after an 18-year career with GlaxoSmithKline, where she most recently was senior vice president and chief of strategy, research and development.

The Rodale Institute, a Kutztown nonprofit founded in 1947 dedicated to pioneering organic farming through research and outreach, appointed Elaine Ingham chief scientist. She had been president and director of research at Soil Foodweb Inc.

PolyMedix Inc., a Radnor biotechnology company that focuses on drugs to treat infectious and cardiovascular diseases, promoted Bozena Korczak to senior vice president, drug development and chief development officer, responsible for all drug development activities. Korczak joined the company in 2007 as vice president, drug development.

GSI Health, a Philadelphia and New York health-information software provider, named Lori Evans Bernstein president. Evans Bernstein had been chief executive of a provider solutions division of ActiveHealth Management, a health management company owned by Aetna Inc.

CardioNet Inc., a Conshohocken wireless-medical-technology company, hired Peter Ferola as general counsel and senior vice president, corporate development. Ferola had been vice president, general counsel and secretary at Nipro Diagnostics Inc. (formerly Home Diagnostics Inc.).

John E. Silva joined Developmental Enterprises Corp., a Norristown nonprofit provider of vocational and habilitation services for mentally retarded and other developmentally disabled adults, as vice president for sales and marketing in the DECWorks division. He had been president of JESCO.

Daniel W. Hobbs was named managing director in the Philadelphia office of Diversified Search Odgers Berndtson, a corporate recruiter. Hobbs joins Diversified from Korn/Ferry International, where he was a client partner within the Global Industrial Practice.

MTI Information Technologies, Langhorne, appointed James R. Neumann senior vice president, client management. Neumann had been practice leader for the Relationship Marketing of Rosetta.

Jason Bobby was hired as a vice president in the Technology & Media Group of Janney Montgomery Scott's investment banking department. Bobby joins the Philadelphia financial services company from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was vice president of investment banking.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia named Peter M. Grollman vice president, government affairs, community relations and advocacy. Grollman was hired as director, government affairs, community relations and advocacy in 2007.
