ViroPharma Inc., an Exton specialty-pharmaceutical developer, has elected Julie H. McHugh to its board. She is chief operating officer of Endo Pharmaceuticals Holdings Inc. and was chief executive officer of Nora Therapeutics Inc. McHugh also was company group chairman for Johnson & Johnson's Worldwide Virology Business Unit and president of Centocor Inc., a J&J subsidiary.

Formula Pharmaceuticals, a privately held Berwyn company founded in 2009 that develops oncology drugs, has appointed Martyn Greenacre to its board. Greenacre was chairman of BMP Sunstone Corp., a pharmaceutical company recently acquired by Sanofi-Aventis, and had been CEO and director of Delsys Pharmaceutical Corp. He also is chairman of start-up companies Acusphere Inc. and Life Mist Technologies Inc. and sits on the board of Curis Inc.

Deborah L. Spranger has been elected to the board of the Chester County Keystone Innovation Zone, a program initiated by the Chester County Economic Development Council. She is vice chairwoman of the business and finance department and cochairwoman of the life sciences practice group at Saul Ewing L.L.P.

Ray S. Greenberg, president of Financial Expertise, Feasterville, has been elected president of the Feasterville Business Association. He replaces Dennis I. Markowitz, founder and chief operating officer of the Financial Group Plus family of companies, Southampton, who becomes a director on the association's executive committee.

Rose McMenamin, vice president of Third Federal Bank, Feasterville, is treasurer.

Linda Pupkiewicz, assistant director of the Lower Southampton Library, Feasterville, is recording secretary.

Julia Newman, manager of VCA Animal Hospital/VCA Neshaminy Hospital, Oakford, and a Lower Southampton Township supervisor, is corresponding secretary.

Larry Laiken, president of Snacks By The Lb., Feasterville, is financial secretary.

Karen Madotto, assistant vice president, banking officer at Bucks County Bank, Bensalem, is sergeant-at-arms.

Newly elected members include: William Wiegman Jr., Lower Southampton Township chief of police; Diane Fetscher, a financial adviser for Oppenheimer & Co., Jenkintown; and Susan Harrison, co-owner and title agent of Greater Philadelphia Abstract Agency, Trevose. Retained for a second year are: Ed Shannon, Lower Southampton Township supervisor; Michael J. Hughes, Reacltor and partner at Olde Towne Realty; Michael Wielehowski, president of Northern Mechanical; and Katrina Piatroski, assistant vice president, training director for Third Federal Bank, Newtown.

Peirce College, Philadelphia, has elected William H. Morgan vice chairman. He is senior vice president of global human resources for Nasdaq OMX Group Inc. and is the former executive vice president, technology and operations and chief information officer for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange Inc.

Two new board members also were elected: Kathryn McCluskey, an associate in the health-care practice group of White & Williams L.L.P., and Lisa A. Curran, an investment-marketing manager at the Vanguard Group and an adjunct professor at St. Joseph's University.

  Salvatore J. Patti and Kristen Phillips have been named to the board of the Philadelphia Theatre Company, a regional theater company. Patti is senior vice president and market manager for the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey Commercial Banking Group of PNC. Phillips is senior vice president of marketing and strategy for the insurance and retirement solutions businesses of Lincoln Financial Group.

The Philadelphia Gay Tourism Caucus, a regional organization, has appointed the following members to its board:

Chip Alfred, communications director of the Equality Forum; Thom Cardwell, development director of the Philadelphia Cinema Alliance; Jennifer Shockley, director of business development at Philadelphia Magazine; Lauren Tosti, communications and interactive manager of Sesame Place; and John Golden, communications manager of the Valley Forge Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Plant a Seed Inspire a Dream Foundation, a nonprofit organization that helps children from low-income families pursue their passions, has elected Stacy Cohen to its board. She is president of Construction Staffing, a search firm that places senior executives in the construction industry.

 Mohammad A. Ghiasuddin, a principal and member of the commercial litigation and construction law groups of Kaplin, Stewart, Meloff, Reiter & Stein P.C., Blue Bell, has been appointed chairman of the Diversity Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association for 2012.

  PRWT Services Inc., a minority-owned Philadelphia company that operates several businesses, has elected Mark S. Schweiker and Fletcher Wiley to its board. Schweiker, president the company's business-process unit, is former president and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. Wiley was a principal and advisory board chairman at PRWT and was executive vice president, general counsel, board chairman, and senior partner with the Boston-based Goldstein & Manello P.C.

The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, a nonprofit organization, has named the following members to its board: Heather Carmody is partner at Duane Morris L.L.P.; Chris Dietz is president of Clear Sound Inc.; Michael R. Hagy is managing principal of Pinnacle Performance Group Inc.; Peter L. Klenk is a lawyer in the Law Offices of Peter L. Klenk Associates; Antonio Muniz is chief financial officer of Coventry; and David Slobotkin is commercial relationship manager/vice president at Sovereign/Santander Bank.

USA Technologies Inc., a Malvern developer of electronic-payment systems for vending machines, has elected Steven D. Barnhart the company's first lead independent director. A board member since October 2009, he will continue to be chairman of the Nominating Committee and a member of the audit and compensation committees. Barnhart is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Bally Total Fitness.

Doug DeVos, president of Amway Corp., has been elected chairman of the executive committee of the National Constitution Center, a Philadelphia nonprofit, nonpartisan institution devoted to the U.S. Constitution. DeVos succeeds Lawrence J. Kent, who will remain a trustee of the center.     - Mike Zebe
