Day & Zimmermann, a Philadelphia provider of industrial, defense and workforce services for government and commercial customers, has hired Ken Jobe as vice president, process and industrial, in its engineering, construction and maintenance unit. Jobe was the owner and principal of Polaris Global Solutions.

Intech Construction, a privately held Philadelphia-based construction manager and general contractor, has promoted Joe Kelly, Blaise Lutz, Dave Maguire, and Phil Moses to principals. Kelly works in the firm's pre-construction department. Lutz is responsible for internal operations and manages the financial-reporting process. Maguire directs construction operations on all projects. Moses is involved in marketing, pre-construction, and diversity. On the construction side, Moses has managed several of Intech's most complex projects.

CardioNet Inc., a Conshohocken wireless-medical-technology company, has hired Michael Geldart as senior vice president, corporate strategy and business development. He had been chief operating officer for MedExpress Urgent Care.

Echo Therapeutics Inc., a Philadelphia company developing a needle-free glucose monitoring system, has hired David Walton as vice president of marketing and commercial development. He had been worldwide director of global strategic marketing for insulin delivery and continuous glucose monitoring products at LifeScan, Johnson & Johnson's diabetes care franchise.

BartonPartners Architects Planners Inc., Norristown, has hired Matthew J. Koenig as principal. He had been associate managing principal at JKR Partners in Philadelphia Schultz & Williams, a Philadelphia-based consulting firm to nonprofit organizations, has promoted Jessica Harrington to senior vice president from vice president.

Patriot Financial Partners L.P., a $300 million private equity fund based in Philadelphia, has hired James F. Deutsch as managing director and Stephanie Langer as managing director, head of investor relations. Deutsch had been president, CEO, director and founding member of Team Capital Bank. Langer held the same posts at Quaker Partners Management L.P.

Vertex Inc., a Berwyn provider of corporate tax software and services, has hired Peggi Rockefeller as chief tax officer, U.S. Transaction Tax. Rockefeller most recently served as the North American director of indirect taxes for ABB Inc.

Eastburn & Gray, Doylestown, has hired Nancy L. Gimbol as the law firm's first marketing director. She had been director of marketing at Flaster/Greenberg P.C.

Kelly M. Schirmer has been appointed associate administrator at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. Schirmer most recently served as the chief operating officer and facility compliance officer at Memorial Hospital of Salem County, a 140-bed for-profit hospital.

TD Bank has promoted Colin D. Price to sales and service manager from assistant store manager of its Exton branch.

Charles A. Prall has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer of the New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Co., West Trenton. He will also serve on the board of directors. He had been treasurer since 2004.

Leslie Nichols has been named executive video producer of Bradford Media Group L.L.C., a West Chester-based media company. She had been a producer with Magical Elves Inc., producers of "Top Chef" and "Project Runway" in Los Angeles.

Citrin Cooperman, Philadelphia, hired Colleen S. Vallen as the lead partner in the Philadelphia office's Valuation & Forensic Services practice. She had been a partner with ParenteBeard.

Philadelphia Financial Group Inc. hired Ken Somers as vice president of human capital and management services. He had been vice president and director of human resources for The Hartford's life insurance businesses.

Allebach Communications, Souderton, hired Lauren Cassidy as an account manager. She most recently was a packaging production coordinator for Thomas J. Paul Inc.'s Mars account.

Biomedical Systems, a St. Louis provider of centralized diagnostic services has expanded its clinical trials division and hired John McFadden as business development director for Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and Michigan, with his headquarters in Philadelphia. He had been senior account executive of business development and life-science services at QC Laboratories.

Dan LaBert has been hired as executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a statewide association in Philadelphia. He is the former executive director of the Bar Association of Lehigh County.

NextDocs Corp., a software firm moving from King of Prussia to Conshohocken, hired Nitin Bhatia vice president of global services. He had been a senior director in the Office 365 business group at Microsoft.

Karen H. Greenberg has been appointed managing director, consultant relations at Turner Investments, an employee-owned investment firm in Berwyn. She had been managing director, consultant relations, at Atalanta Sosnoff Capital.
