John Scanlon, chief medical officer and chief of podiatric medicine and surgery at Chestnut Hill Hospital. 

Ilene Warner-Maron, a practicing nurse and specialist in gerontology who is an assistant professor at St. Joseph's University. 

Maureen Pié-Bruno, a practicing attorney who is a lecturer in sociology at Thomas Jefferson University. 

Kim Miller, an economic-development consultant who works with development agencies and start-up entrepreneurs.

Michelle Gold has been appointed to a two-year term on the board of trustees of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, a nonprofit health-advocacy group. She is media director at Diccicco Battista Communications, Conshohocken. She also will serve on the communications committee to help raise awareness for funding and research to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

Philip H. Lebowitz has been elected an advisory board member of the Chester Children's Chorus, a program of Swarthmore College. Lebowitz is a partner at Duane Morris L.L.P. whose practice focuses on health-care law and litigation.

Franklin Institute, Philadelphia, elected entrepreneur and business executive Michael Sanchez to its board of trustees. Sanchez is chairman and chief executive officer of Savana Inc., Berwyn.

Brandywine Health Foundation, a nonprofit Coatesville organization that provides grants to area services and programs to improve health and encourage youth development, named Tamera R. Hrynkow, Mark B. Myers, and Stephen W. Price to its board. Hrynkow is the area manager vice president of First Niagara. Myers is a retired senior vice president of Xerox Corp. Price is a managing member of Atlantic Senior Development L.L.C., managing director of New Covenant Communities L.L.C., and president of CommonLife Corp.

Christine Cintron has been appointed to the board of ServiceSource, a Wilmington regional nonprofit provider of resources to those with disabilities. She is vice president of Applied Bank in Newark.

Julie Von Spreckelsen has been elected to the board of the Ambler Area YMCA, a branch of the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity. Von Spreckelsen is a shareholder in the land use and zoning and family law practice groups at Eastburn & Gray P.C., Blue Bell.

Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia has appointed Steven Haas advisory board chair. Haas is vice chair of the corporate practice group at Cozen O'Connor and succeeds Stephen Zarrilli, is president and chief executive officer of Safeguard Scientifics Inc., who had served as co-chair since 2010.

Mayor Nutter named Stella M. Tsai to the board of Community College of Philadelphia. She is a partner at Archer & Greiner P.C. in Philadelphia and a former chair of administrative law at the City of Philadelphia Law Department.

Philadelphia Police Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the Philadelphia Police Department, elected Maureen Rush president. She is vice president, Division of Public Safety, at the University of Pennsylvania.

Peter Madden, president of AgileCat, Philadelphia, is vice president. 

Janice Tangradi, Philadelphia market manager for 7-Eleven, is secretary. 

Craig Kocak, transaction services partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.C., Philadelphia, is treasurer.

New board members are:

Christopher Gali, co-founder and chief architect of Adminovate, Philadelphia.

Rob Johnson, vice president of marketing at Xfinity Live! Philadelphia.  

Joe Oliveri, regional field vice president, Northeast, at Tyco Integrated Security, Melville, N.Y. 

Larry Sechuk, vice president, loss-prevention special operations and law enforcement outreach for Macy's, New York. 

Scott Shreve, a partner at Ernst & Young L.L.P. in Philadelphia. 

Shawn Tilger, senior vice president of business operations for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Church Farm School, an Episcopal college-preparatory boarding and day school in Exton, has elected the following to its board of trustees: 

Stacey Shreiner Kley, director of external affairs at the Montgomery School. 

Walter K. Smith, vice president, U.S. options and futures, at NASDAQ OMX Group. 

Gary G. Schlarbaum, chief investment officer at Palliser Capital Management. 

Norman Strate, executive adviser at TMI Executive Resources.

Christine Cannon has been appointed to the board of the National Council of La Raza, a Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization. Cannon is executive director of the Arsht-Cannon Fund, Wilmington.
