National Penn Bancshares Inc., Boyertown, announced the following executive promotions:

Michael J. Hughes, group executive vice president and chief financial officer, has been promoted to senior executive vice president. He will continue to serve as CFO and also will be responsible for the company's wealth-management and insurance groups.

Sandra L. Bodnyk, group executive vice president and chief risk officer, has been promoted to senior executive vice president. She will continue to serve as chief risk officer, with additional responsibility for the operations and information-technology groups.

David B. Kennedy, group executive vice president, general bank, has been promoted to senior executive vice president and chief banking officer. He now directs the bank's six regional presidents, as well as the corporate banking, marketing, and corporate communications functions.

Lewis Cyr has been promoted to president and CEO of National Penn's wealth-management and insurance groups. He had been president of the company's central region.He replaces Donald Worthington, who has retired.

Scott Gruber, group executive vice president, corporate banking, has been promoted and will assume additional responsibilities as the president of National Penn's central region.

Bruce Smith, executive vice president, middle market group, has been promoted and will assume additional responsibilities as the commercial bank director of National Penn's central region.

Evan Hand has been promoted to senior vice president, director of banking sales administration. He had been commercial bank director of the central region.

Rodale Inc., the Emmaus, Pa., and New York book, magazine, and digital publisher, has named Bobby Chowdhury as chief technology officer. He had been vice president of engineering and digital.  

Stradley Ronon, Philadelphia, said David H. Joseph has been named chair of the firm's business department and Michael D. O'Mara has been named litigation department chair. Joseph is a partner in the firm's Philadelphia and New York offices; O'Mara is a partner in the Philadelphia office.

Richard I. Fisher has been hired as executive vice president at Fox Chase Cancer Center, responsible for overseeing and leading the seven clinical-department chairs at the center, a member of the Temple University Health System and Temple University School of Medicine. Fisher had been vice president for strategic and program development at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he was also Samuel E. Durand professor of medicine.

Duane Morris Government Strategies, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, a government-affairs firm, has hired Patrick Mangus as senior counsel, strategic communications, leading a new nationwide strategic-communications practice. Mangus had been executive director of the National Aviary.

Breast cancer researcher and clinician Massimo Cristofanilli has been appointed director of the Jefferson Breast Care Center at the Kimmel Cancer Center and Thomas Jefferson University and Hospitals and deputy director of translational research at the center. Cristofanilli had been chairman of the department of medical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and head of its Inflammatory Breast Cancer Clinic.

Adminovate, a privately held Philadelphia consulting and software provider for the life, health, and annuity industries, hired Jim Rourke as chief marketing officer and Rich Yeni as chief business development officer. Rourke had been vice president for Oracle Insurance. Yenik was a minority owner and corporate executive at Andesa Services.

Firstrust Bank, Conshohocken, has promoted Mark Tierney to senior vice president, director of business banking, from director of community banking operations.

Skanska USA, a New York provider of construction management, preconstruction, and design-build services, has promoted Norm O'Brien to vice president for environment, health, and safety for Skanska USA Building's Northeast Region. He had been EHS director for the New England region.

MarketPlace Philadelphia Management, manager of the food and retail program throughout Philadelphia International Airport, has promoted Mel Hannah to vice president and general manager, from vice president of retail operations.

American Executive Centers, Philadelphia, promoted Maureen Dee from communication coordinator to corporate trainer.

Kathleen T. Alcorn has been appointed quality enhancement director of Developmental Enterprises Corp., a nonprofit provider of therapeutic, vocational and habilitation services for adults with intellectual challenges and other developmental disabilities. She had been director of the group's DEC's Willow Grove Training Center.

GB Collects, a West Berlin provider of commercial collection services, hired Jody Campbell as manager, regional business development. She had been owner and president of Rapid Refill.

Keating Environmental Management Inc., an Exton environmental, sustainability, energy, procurement and special-services firm, hired Michael T. Keating as senior vice president of special services. He had been project manager of Keating Building Co.

  Pennsylvania Life Sciences Institute, Wayne, a nonprofit charitable group created by Pennsylvania Bio, hired Dale Keshishian as executive director. Keshishian is the founder of HealthWorks Academies.

     Maureen Mackay Nacey has been named a partner and shareholder at the West Chester law firm Gawthrop Greenwood PC. She joined the firm in 2006 in the family-law practice group.
