Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has named Gabriel L. I. Bevilacqua chair of its Disciplinary Board. He is of counsel in the commercial-litigation practice at Saul Ewing L.L.P., Philadelphia.

John Jay Institute, Philadelphia, an educational and professional civic-leadership organization, elected Michael Maibach to its board of governors. He is a senior fellow at the Aspen Institute 21st Century Manufacturing Program.

Wistar Institute, Philadelphia, a nonprofit biomedical-research organization, appointed L. Patrick Gage and William A. Slaughter to its board of trustees. Gage is founder of Gage Biotech Consulting and had been senior vice president of science and technology for Wyeth. Slaughter is a partner in the litigation department of Ballard Spahr L.L.P., Philadelphia.

Bethann Schaffzin, Kelly Nestor, and Charles D. Brown have been elected to the board of Saunders House in Wynnewood, Bryn Mawr Terrace in Bryn Mawr, and the Main Line Senior Care Alliance. Schaffzin is partner at Shein Law Center. Nestor is a clinical instructor at Villanova University College of Nursing. Brown is the director of development at the Haverford School.

American Cancer Society appointed Veronica Hill-Milbourne and Jannie Lau to its board. Hill-Milbourne is director, operations business support, at Independence Blue Cross. Lau is executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary at InterDigital Inc.

Christopher Wink, cofounder of Technically Media, has been named to the board of the Pen and Pencil Club, Philadelphia.

Thomas C. Barone has been elected to serve on the board of trustees of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association. He maintains a private practice in Philadelphia and is a clinical assistant professor in the osteopathic manipulative medicine department at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Urban Tree Connection, a West Philadelphia nonprofit group that works to transform abandoned open spaces across Philadelphia into safe green places, named Crystal Hardie to its board. She is principal at Vanguard Group.

Bernie Dagenais, president and CEO of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce, has been named to the board of the Main Line Chamber Foundation.

OxiCool Inc., a Philadelphia technology company developing cooling technologies, said Gen. James L. Jones has joined its advisory board. Jones is the former national security adviser to the president of the United States, the former Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Combatant Commander USEUCOM, and the 32d commandant of the Marines. He now leads Jones Group International, which provides advisory and strategic consulting services on energy, market access and trade promotion, and international security.
