Christopher Olivia has been named president at Continuum Health Alliance, a Marlton-based regional physician-practice management company. He had been managing director at Navigant in Philadelphia and was senior vice president for strategic planning and new venture development at Highmark/West Penn Allegheny in Pittsburgh.

Pennsylvania State Sen. Lawrence Farnese has joined the Philadelphia law firm of Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy P.C. as of counsel. Elected in 2008, Farnese represents Pennsylvania's First Senatorial District in Philadelphia. He had been of counsel at Archer Greiner.

Safeguard Scientifics Inc., a Wayne provider of growth capital and operational support to technology and health-care companies, has hired Albert Wiegman as a venture partner on its deal team. His responsibilities will include leading new capital-deployment opportunities and managing certain Safeguard partner companies. Wiegman had been a general partner at HLM Venture Partners, a venture-capital firm with offices in Boston and San Francisco.

First Federal of Bucks County, Bristol, has named Jeane M. Coyle president and CEO. She had been the bank's executive vice president and chief administrative officer.

Novira Therapeutics Inc., a Doylestown biotechnology firm developing antiviral drugs to treat chronic hepatitis B infection, has hired Klaus Klumpp as vice president, discovery research. He had been vice president and global head of virology discovery at Roche's Nutley, N.J., site.

Presby's Inspired Life, a Lafayette Hill not-for-profit developer of continuing-care and affordable housing for seniors, has appointed Jim Polaski executive vice president and chief operating officer, a position he has held on an interim basis since late 2012.

NRG Energy Inc. has appointed James Steffes Northeast retail regional president, a newly created, Philadelphia-based position. He had been CEO and president of Green Mountain Energy, a subsidiary of NRG.

Mark Douglas adds Asia Pacific and Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey regions in addition to Latin America in his role as president, agricultural solutions.

He had been chief financial officer and vice president of finance and administration for NorthEast Treatment Centers.

The Philadelphia social-media and public-relations agency Slice Communications L.L.C. has hired Erica Palan as a social-media account supervisor and Emily Kanter as a public-relations account manager. Palan had been digital managing editor at Philadelphia Magazine and an adjunct professor in Temple University's journalism department. Kanter had been a public-relations senior account executive with the Cline Group.

TD Bank has named Jamie M. Alfonsi vice president, store manager of a branch in Wilmington. She had been a vice president at Citibank in Wilmington.

Campbell Soup Co., Camden, has hired Carlos Barroso as senior vice president, global research and development, effective July 31. He had run his own research-and-development consulting practice and was senior vice president of R&D at PepsiCo.
