Terry Boston, president and chief executive of PJM Interconnection, Valley Forge, has been elected to the board of the National Academy of Engineering.

Maria Bermudez-Harris has been appointed 2014 co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Social Security Disability Committee. Dover Downs Gaming & Entertainment Inc., Wilmington, appointed senior vice president-finance, treasurer and chief financial officer Timothy R. Horne to its board.

Lynn A. Nolan, director of retirement-planning services at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co., Horsham, has been named to the Economics, Finance and Taxation Department advisory board at Widener University.

Philadelphia Mural Arts Advocates, the nonprofit arm of the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, elected the following board members:

Tariq "Black Thought" Trotter, lead MC for Emmy-award winning band the Roots; Nancy Peterson, vice president/deputy general counsel and chief compliance officer at AlliedBarton Security Services; Erin Wilson, deputy state director in the office of U.S. Sen. Bob Casey; Thoai Nguyen, chief executive officer at the Southeast Asian Mutual Assistance Association Coalition; Tomas Sanchez, director of business relations and procurement at Temple University; Anthony Troy, executive director at Comcast Converged Products.. Desiree Peterkin Bell, director of communications and strategy in the Office of the Mayor, City of Philadelphia, is an ex-officio member of the board.

Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, a nonprofit conservation group in Ambler, elected Tai-ming Chang to its board. He will transition from serving as a member of the water resources committee to serving as committee chair. He serves as U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service liaison to the North Atlantic and Appalachian Landscape Conservation Cooperative for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Attorney Kevin D. Sheehan of Parker McCay, Mount Laurel, has been elected to the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Burlington, Camden & Gloucester Counties. Sheehan is the chair of the firm's real estate and land use department.
