Johnston, who played a leading role in the post-merger transition of Comcast Programming Properties employees to NBCUniversal, has been senior vice president, human resources, for Comcast Programming Properties. Prior to Comcast, she served as deputy general counsel and later as vice president, human resources, with PJM Interconnection.

Pennsylvania Trust, Radnor, has hired Juliana S. Karnavas as senior vice president. Karnavas comes from Glenmede Trust Co., where she was managing director and senior portfolio manager and acted as lead relationship manager for some of Glenmede's complex family and foundation relationships.

Sun National Bank, Mount Laurel, has named Jack R. Allison IV chief operations officer. He had been chief information officer and senior vice president at Customers Bank.

Pep Boys - Manny, Moe & Jack, the Philadelphia automotive after-market service and retail chain, has hired John J. Kelly as senior vice president-chief merchandising officer. He had been president of Decible and vice president of home merchandising at QVC.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has hired LouAnn Westall as vice president, strategic operations. She had served as associate provost for academic planning at Tufts Medical School.

Citizens Bank has hired Rich McCabe as senior loan officer for the Home Lending Solutions Mid-Atlantic Division in Freehold. He was a senior loan officer with Sun Bank Home Loans.

Trellist Marketing and Technology, Wilmington, has expanded its business to include a social-business practice and has named Chris Wallace strategic leader of the practice.

TD Wealth Private Client Group, Mount Laurel, has hired John J. Watson as wealth market leader for the southern and coastal New Jersey markets. He had been wealth-management adviser for the central and southern New Jersey regions at Wells Fargo Private Bank.

Susan DeLuca has been hired as director of development at Pickering Manor in Newtown. She had been director of annual giving and special events at Liberty Lutheran Foundation in Ambler.

Kistler Tiffany Benefits, a Philadelphia employee-benefits consulting firm, has hired Chris Elvidge as director of account management. He was a senior associate for Aetna.

First Bank, Hamilton, hired Ryan K. Manville as chief operating officer, succeeding Patrick L. Ryan, who was promoted to president and CEO in January. Manville spent 10 years with American Express, serving in a variety of positions.

Jonathan Rose Cos. L.L.C., a Philadelphia green real estate development, investment and project-management firm, named Michael Daly chief operating officer. He had been president of Forest City Enterprises' affiliate Mesa del Sol in New Mexico.

David DiMattio was selected dean of science, technology, engineering and mathematics at Montgomery County Community College, with campuses in Blue Bell and Pottstown. He served on the faculty at St. Bonaventure University.

Novira Therapeutics Inc., a Doylestown company working on developing antiviral therapeutics for the treatment of chronic HBV infection, has named Christian S. Schade chief executive officer. Schade, a 30-year veteran of the private and public pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Omthera Pharmaceuticals.

Michele Albert has been promoted to director of university events, from event planner, at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.

Citadel, an Exton provider of banking, investments and insurance services, has hired Margolit Hillsberg as chief human-resources officer. She had been vice president of human resources at Comcast Corp.

Elemica, an Exton supply-chain operating-network provider for the process industries, hired Roger Blumberg as vice president, sourcing product management and operations. He had been senior vice president for MFG.com.

Comcast Corp., Philadelphia, has promoted Karen Dougherty Buchholz to senior vice president of administration, from vice president of administration, and Rebecca Arbogast to senior vice president of global public policy, from vice president of global public policy.

Michael A. Edwards has been appointed associate professor of surgery at Temple University School of Medicine, and chief of general and minimally invasive surgery and director of bariatric surgery at Temple University Hospital. Edwards comes to Temple from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Ga., where he was associate professor of surgery and chief of minimally invasive and digestive diseases surgery.

Discovery Laboratories Inc., a Warrington specialty biotechnology company, has hired William C. Roberts as vice president, investor relations and corporate communication. John A. Tattory has been promoted to senior vice president and chief financial officer, from vice president, finance. Roberts had been vice president, corporate communications, at ViroPharma.
