Auxilium Pharmaceuticals Inc., a publicly held integrated specialty biopharmaceutical company in Chesterbrook, has hired Andrew Saik as chief financial officer. He had been senior vice president, finance, and treasurer at Endo Health Solutions.

Treatment Research Institute, Philadelphia, has appointed David R. Gastfriend as chief executive officer. Gastfriend previously held the position of vice president for scientific communications at Alkermes Inc. A. Thomas McLellan, founder of the institute, will assume the role of chair of the TRI board of directors.

Mark McLoone has been appointed chief executive officer at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center, effective Sept. 22. He comes to Pottstown from Methodist Healthcare System in San Antonio, Texas, where he was CEO for Methodist Children's Hospital and Women's Services.
