Astral Artists, a Philadelphia nonprofit cultural group that helps classical musicians launch their careers, has named the following board members: Joan Chait, a cellist with the Lower Merion Symphony Orchestra; Robin Pinder Herndon, counsel at Siemens Healthcare; Bobby Ellen Kimbel, a published writer who has been an instructor and lecturer in English, art history, and aesthetics at Temple University, Rosemont College, and Drexel University; Christopher R.B. Merritt, former vice chair of the department of radiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital; Laura S. Picciano, an attending physician at the Ripa Center for Women's Health and Wellness in Voorhees, and Linda Ayella Semes, former president of the Association of Roman Catholic Home-Schoolers.
The Philadelphia Orchestra Association has elected R. Putnam Coes III to its board. Coes is a partner and chief operating officer of Paulson & Co. Inc. and was a managing director with Morgan Stanley, where he served as chief operating officer of several investment businesses. He also is a director of Motley Fool Inc. and the Managed Funds Association, and is a trustee of Renbrook School and chair of its investment committee.
The Hispanic National Bar Association, Washington, has appointed Rafael Zahralddin-Aravena general counsel. He is chair of the national commercial bankruptcy and restructuring practice at Elliott Greenleaf.
The nonprofit Food Trust in Philadelphia, has appointed Suzanne P. McHenry to its board. She is an assurance manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P.
Hillel of Greater Philadelphia, which serves Jewish college students throughout the Philadelphia region, has elected Jeff Wilson as president of its board. Wilson, retired as a partner at Deloitte Consulting, is a founding principal at Integrated Solutions in Healthcare.
The following were elected board members: Richard Weiss, retired senior attending radiologist at Abington Memorial Hospital and former chairman of radiology at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Chester; Neil Cooper, a founding partner of Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld L.L.C.,: Marla Benedek, a third-year law student at the University of Pennsylvania and an active member of the Jewish community in Center City, and Ronald Perilstein, president of Arjay Group Inc. and chairman of the board of overseers for Penn Hillel.
Joseph Bottazzi has been elected chair of the board of the Rowan University Foundation. Bottazzi is executive vice president of business development at Edelman Financial Services L.L.C. Named to the board were Dorothy Stubblebine, president of DJS Associates; James George, strategic advisor to the president of TeamHealth and chair of the Physician Leadership Council, and Elizabeth Faircloth, co-founder and adviser of the DeRosa Group as well as vice president of Augur Inc.
The Philadelphia Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International has named Dan Love president-elect. He is co-owner of Catering by Design, an off-premise special-event company.

Mark H. Dambly, president, Pennrose Properties L.L.C., has been elected to the 2015 board of the Pennsylvania Apartment Association East.
Bruce Marks, a shareholder at Shechtman Marks Devor P.C., a Center City accounting firm, has been named chair of the finance committee of Philadelphia Mural Arts Advocates.
The Pennsylvania SPCA has elected to its board of directors Pamela Berkman, a former secondary education teacher; Joanne Boyle, a lawyer and executive director of the School Ethics Commission of the New Jersey Department of Education, Gina Gilliam, former environmental-education manager at the Fairmount Park Commission, and Julie Klim, an independent consultant.
Accolade, Plymouth Meeting, has named the following to its medical advisory board: Ivor Horn, medical director for the Center for Diversity and Health Equity at Seattle Children's Hospital; Wayne Katon, professor of psychiatry, director of the division of health services and epidemiology and vice chair of the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington Medical School, and Leana S. Wen, attending physician and director of patient-centered care research in the department of emergency medicine at George Washington University.
