Barbara Sadler has been promoted to vice president, finance/controller, at Interstate General Media, publisher of The Inquirer, the Philadelphia Daily News, and Philly.com. In her expanded leadership role, Sadler will assume responsibility for the company's operating budget, core reporting, and purchasing functions. An employee with more than 25 years with the company, she had been controller of accounting and internal controls.

Thomas Jefferson University and Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Philadelphia, has appointed Joseph B. Hill chief diversity officer. He joins Jefferson from Froedtert Health, the clinical arm of the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he developed a diversity and inclusion program that became an integral part of the health system's values, strategy and operational initiatives.

St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Philadelphia, has hired Michael L. Spear as director of the palliative-care program and attending neonatologist. He had been a partner at Christiana Neonatal Associates in Newark, Del., from 2000 to 2013; a consultant, neonatal/perinatal palliative care IMPACT team, at Christiana Care Health Services; and part of the neonatal/perinatal CORE palliative-care team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Insurance Cos., a Bala Cynwyd commercial property/casualty and professional liability insurance company for niche markets, promoted two vice presidents to senior vice president. Bob Morgan is now senior vice president of underwriting. Seth Hall assumes the position of senior vice president of customer service.
