West Chester-based TV and Web retailer QVC will open its first West Coast distribution center at a 1.1 million-square-foot facility in Ontario, Calif., according to commercial real estate services firm CBRE, which brokered the lease.

QVC will occupy the largest of seven buildings at a warehouse complex being developed in the inland Southern California city by owner Sares-Regis Group, CBRE said in a release Wednesday.

CBRE spokeswoman Kelly Conaway declined to discuss the lease's term or financial details.

The facility is set to begin operation by the end of September 2016 and will accommodate about 20 percent of QVC's total U.S. business, CBRE said. Its current distribution centers are in Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and South Carolina.
