Venerable Boyds clothing store in Center City reopening Monday after fire

Boyds, the high-end Center City clothier, said it plans to reopen Monday a week after a fire triggered the store's sprinkler system, causing extensive water damage and the temporary closure.

The fire on Monday in the fifth-floor tailor shop set off the sprinkers on the fourth and fifth floors, a spokeswoman for the retailer said.

The store at 1818 Chestnut Street required extensive cleanup.
