CHOP hires Dallas hospital exec as its chief operating officer

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia named Douglas G. Hock as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective Feb. 1, the hospital said Tuesday.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia named Douglas G. Hock as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective Feb. 1, the hospital said Tuesday.

Hock, a Philadelphia native, is president and chief operating officer of Children's Medical Center Dallas, which is part of the $1.1 billion in annual revenue Children's Health System of Texas. Hock managed a 428-bed hospital and opened a 72-bed satellite location.

CHOP's previous second in command, Madeline Bell, succeeded Steven M. Altschuler as chief executive of CHOP on July 1.
