Safeguard Scientifics Inc., a Radnor provider of capital to technology-driven businesses in health care, financial services, and digital media, has hired Scott A. Snyder as senior vice president, managing director, and chief technology and innovation officer. He had been president and chief strategy officer at Mobiquity Inc., where he will continue as chairman of the company's advisory board.

Blue Bell-based computer services and systems company Unisys Corp., said that senior vice president and chief financial officer Janet Haugen will retire from the company on Nov. 1 after 20 years of service. The company has named Inder M. Singh, currently chief strategy and marketing officer, to succeed Haugen.

Valley Forge mutual fund Vanguard Group said it has created a philanthropic impact program, Vanguard Capital for Kids, under the leadership of head of community relations Carra Cote-Ackah. She had been director of partnership and strategic initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for High Impact Philanthropy.

Saxco International LLC, a Horsham-based company that distributes bottles from manufacturers to North American liquor, wine, and craft-beer makers, has hired Kevin Brownrigg as regional sales manager. He will be responsible for the day-to-day sales functions and new business development for customers in the beer, wine, spirits, and food industries located in the Midwestern region. He had been a consultant for Act International in Ormond Beach, Fla., consulting for packaging and start-up companies, and director of business development for Pelliconi in Orlando.

Verizon Wireless has appointed Kevin Zavaglia president of its Northeast Market in Morristown, N.J., and will oversee all business functions across the 10-state market. He had been president of the company's New York metro region.

Amanda Mueller has been hired as an account executive at Buchanan Public Relations LLC, a Philadelphia public relations, digital, and crisis-communications agency. She had been executive producer with Fox 43/Tribune.

Antheil Maslow & MacMinn LLP, Doylestown, has hired Gabriel Montemuro as an associate. She had been a law clerk for Judge James M. McMaster of Bucks County Court.

Pamela Browner White has been hired as senior vice president, communications, for the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the ABIM Foundation, a Philadelphia nonprofit. She had been senior vice president of corporate communications and strategic development at Esperanza Inc. and vice president, public affairs, for Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

NBC10 and Telemundo62, the NBCUniversal-owned local television stations in Bala Cynwyd, have named Diana Torralvo director of community relations and communications. She had been senior account executive for Bellevue Communications Group, Philadelphia.

Bristol Riverside Theatre has hired Anne S. Kohn as managing director following a national search conducted by Management Consultants for the Arts Inc. She had been general manager for Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington.

Privately held insurance broker Lockton has hired Robert Russell on its employee benefit team as a vice president and unit manager in the Philadelphia operation. He had been vice president and senior consultant with Conner, Strong & Buckelew.

Mary Beth Lake has joined global marketing research and consulting agency AMC Global (formerly Attitude Measurement Corp.), Blue Bell, as executive vice president, corporate strategy and innovation. She is the former global CEO of Synovate's MarketQuest (now IPSOS) product design and development division.

Ascensus, an independent retirement plan and college savings services provider based in Dresher, has appointed James Lucania as its new chief financial officer. Lucania served as CFO of Checkpoint Systems. He also will join Ascensus' executive committee. In addition, Mike Finn is transitioning from CFO to senior vice president of strategic analytics and reporting.

Skanska USA, the American arm of the multinational construction manager Skanska AB, Stockholm, has promoted Sai Yerrapathruni as vice president of business development for its regional Philadelphia office. He succeeds Dave Strange, who is retiring after six years as head of business development activities in the region. Yerrapathruni had been senior director of business development at Skanska USA Building Inc.

Dave Barber has been named executive vice president of the Newspaper Relations Group of AMG/Parade, New York. He will oversee relationships for the company's 1,400+ newspaper partners across the U.S.  He served as a consultant for AMG/Parade and rior to that, he headed up the Newspaper Relations Group at Parade Magazine for nearly a decade.  Also, Barber spent 17-years at USA Weekend, where he served as senior vice president, newspaper relations.

Following an extensive national search, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia has hired Monica Taylor Lotty as its new executive vice president and chief development officer. She had been vice president for development and alumni relations at the University of Delaware and executive director of external affairs at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Stephen Westhoven, currently senior vice president, NJR Energy Services (NJRES), will become senior vice president and chief operating officer, NJRES and NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV). Stanley Kosierowski, currently president of NJRCEV, NJR Home Services (NJRHS) and NJR Plumbing Services will continue to serve as president of NJRHS and NJR Plumbing Services until his retirement in 2017, at which time.  esthoven will have these businesses report to him.

Turner Investments LLC, Berwyn, has hired Stefania A. Perrucci as global head of fixed income, as the company anticipates the launch of a series of fixed income, credit, and absolute return investment strategies. She serves on the investment committee and is a member of the firm's fixed income/credit, yield/income, and absolute return investment subcommittees. Perrucci was the founder of New Sky Capital, where she served as chief investment officer for a macro, fixed-income, relative-value fund.Berkadia, a joint commercial real estate venture of Berkshire Hathaway and Leucadia National Corp., has hired Matt Stefanski as managing director of its Philadelphia office. Stefanski had been vice president of CBRE's Philadelphia multifamily team for nearly six years.

Lisa Volpe has joined MayoSeitz Media as human resources manager. She had been human resources manager for Endo Pharmaceuticals.

UGI Corp., the Valley Forge distributor and marketer of energy products and services, has named G. Gary Garcia treasurer. Garcia previously served as treasurer of GenOn.

 Warfel Construction Co., an East Petersburg  provider general construction and construction management services founded in 1922, has announced a  restructuring of its executive team.
 Don Banzhof, former  vice president of business development, has been named vice president of the real estate development department.

 Mike Kreider has been named vice president and general manager of the firm's Malvern office. He had been vice president of estimating.

 Brett Calabretta, vice president of preconstruction, will expand his leadership role to vice president of the firm's preconstruction, estimating, virtual design and construction, and business development teams.

 Glatfelter, a York supplier of specialty papers and fiber-based engineered materials, has hired John Stachowiak as  vice president of internal audit. He will assume responsibility for leading the design and implementation of the worldwide internal audit program for the company. He had been vice president, internal audit with The Hershey Company, responsible for providing corporate governance of the company's global internal control environment. Prior to joining the Hershey Company, he served as audit manager for Coopers & Lybrand, now PwC.

The Fairness Center, a nonprofit public interest law firm offices in Harrisburg and King of Prussia, has hired Nathan McGrath as vice president and litigation counsel.  The Center offers free services to those it says face "unjust treatment from public employee union leaders. " Grath most recently served as a staff attorney with the National Right to Work Foundation (NRTW) in the Washington, D.C. area. Prior to joining NRTW, McGrath served as an associate attorney for Lawlor & Lawlor, P.C., in Pittsburgh, Pa., and as a legislative assistant for Congressman Donald Manzullo (IL-16), where he managed Manzullo's labor policy.

Public Service Enterprise Group, a publicly-held traded diversified energy company Newark, has promoted Brian Clark to vice president, procurement, PSEG Services Corp. A 17-year veteran of the company, he had been senior director SERVCO and Fossil support services. Other positions he has held at PSEG Fossil are plant manager of both the Bergen and Sewaren generation stations and manager, Maplewood Testing Center.  Positions he held at PSEG Nuclear include commercial director of nuclear development; director of business support and nuclear finance; and manager, materials and logistics.

Hamilton Lane, a Bala Cynwyd global private markets investor with more than $315 billion under management and supervision, has hired Lydia A. Gavalis as deputy general counsel. She had been general counsel at SEI, Oaks.

Campus Apartments, a Philadelphia provider of on- and off-campus student housing, has hired Dean Holmes as senior vice president of operations. He had been senior vice president and chief operating officer of Equus Capital Partners Ltd./Madison Apartment Group.

Gawthrop Greenwood PC, West Chester and Wilmington, has promoted Denise M. Antonelli to partner. She is a member of the firm's trusts and estates department. Amanda J. Dougherty has been hired as an associate and member in the litigation and criminal law departments. She had been a prosecutor in Montgomery County and moved on to a civil practice with the Philadelphia Law Department. Also, Elizabeth V. Gavin has been hired as an associate in the municipal government law department. She had been an associate at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC in Blue Bell.

Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions LLC, a Malvern provider of real estate services to educational institutions, has hired Samuel Jung as vice president. He had been project manager at Brailsford & Dunlavey.
